WHAT'S THE STORY?

Genesis Project: After the End, Comes the Beginning, is set long, long ago, before our world was, and when the Republik (it's spelled that way on purpose) of the Kasna ruled four galaxies. During this novel, the Kasna Republik is in a reprieve from a war with the Planetary Empire, a war that has lasted some thirty years. But the forces of evil are always at work, and soon the war begins again. The story takes place across the stars and on the planet Etar, where things that will drastically change the future are put into play. The story is more tragic than it is a hero's tale, and it sets into motion the future events that will truly shape the Genesis Project Universe.

WRITTEN BY?

Genesis Project: After the End, Comes the Beginning, was written by Aaron Michael Fanthorpe and W.E. Gathercoal. The first draft was written in about 1997, and included time travel, which has been since completely removed from not only the book, but the entire Genesis Project universe. The book went through many re-writes and many changes. There was a time when Essienn Ri'a, who is the lead character in the Genesis Project series, wasn't even in After the End, Comes the Beginning. There was even a time when the Kasna Republik didn't exist, nor did characters like Vong Kidfar, and Desfar Nakoo. The biggest changes to ATECTB took place in 2000 when Aaron Michael Fanthorpe asked W.E. Gathercoal to help him rewrite the novel. Nearly starting from the ground up, they went through the novel and re-imagined Genesis Project. Genesis Project became a fantasy science fiction hybrid, and an epic in its own right. Aaron credits the bigger and better changes of the series to W.E., bowing to the fact that the novel wouldn't be as good as it is without him.

THINGS TO KNOW

-One of the major villains in ATECTB, The Keeper of the Undead, is from the race called Darkone, which was created by V.D. Ramsey.

-Patch and Ramha's love story has been in ATECTB since the very earliest drafts, though originally they were both going to be fourteen.

-The planet Erth in ATECTB is not our Earth, it is an ancient world that slightly resembles our world.

-After the End, Comes the Beginning was the original title for the novel, Aaron changed it a couple times, but eventually came back to the original.

-George Brown has survived all the rewrites of After the End, comes the Beginning, however his name has changed once.

-Hanzik was created by W.E. Gathercoal, for a series of books he was working on years ago called Ourkrealm.

-Kofoo Academy was originally called Kofu Academy.

-For two major fight scenes in ATECTB Aaron and W.E. actually used D&D RPG rules and played the fight out before they wrote it... it is a practice that has since been abandoned.

-The Archway was originally a time machine.

-Dennis's name was changed from Denis, to Dennis, but the character of Denis will still show up in Genesis Project.

-Pmac is pronounced Puh-mac.

-There are at least three major stories that take place before ATECTB, which will be released in somewise at a later date. NOTE: Now there are far more than three major stories that take place before ATECTB.

-V.D. Ramsey, though not credited on the cover, wrote the brand new Interlude and a section of the Epilogue for this re-release of After the End, Comes the Beginning.
