This book takes place immediately after the events in After the End, Comes the Beginning and follows Hayden Anilith in his search for his lost brothers, and his reunion with Essienn Ri'a. It also documents the final days of the Kasna Republik and the rise of a new and terrible evil.
WRITTEN BY? This novel was written primarily by Aaron Michael Fanthorpe, with a great deal of help and reworking from W.E. Gathercoal, as well as input, a chapter, and character creation by V.D. Ramsey.
THINGS TO KNOW -Believe it or not, Essienn Ri'a wasn't originally going to be in this novel. -The Hinder War and Durinians were created in the late nineties by Aaron, when he was writing a short story called Hinder War. -The cover of Heirs of Ashes was created by W.E. Gathercoal, and it features a changed and darker Essienn Ri'a than the one in After the End, Comes the Beginning. Laying at her feet is a dead Durinian. -The Deifier originally had an AI that carried on conversations with Vong. -There is an brand new story arc featuring Ramha Nakoo in this book, where she discovers what happened to her father, Kimnor Kofoo, after she left Etar. -Fanthorpe, Gathercoal, and Ramsey are brothers. _________________________________________________________________________________
