Okay, here goes the next Second Age of the Kasna short story. Go to Short Stories and click on Shadow of the Slayekk to read the new installment. There are battles and cyborgs and robots galore. I have to note that, while the story is written by me, I can't take full credit for the ideas that made up the story. V.D. Ramsey and myself came up with the Duryur and the Sancur about three years ago (there will be more from them, rest assured). The Salyekk were a creation of V.D. Ramsey's as is their quest to cleanse the Universes. The Retaz society was developed by Ryan Shurtliff, and I think it turned out nicely. The super intelligent Retaz named Soren, who you will meet in the story was created by Ryan, and I know there will probably be more stories from this guy in the future. The story idea was a combined effort between Ryan Shurtliff, V.D. Ramsey, and myself. I hope you enjoy this story, it was a labour of love, and is a high action and adventure and deepens the Genesis Project mythology.

UPDATE!
I just wanted to give a little behind the scenes information on the Sons of Freedom short story that is now available to read here on Genesis Project Universe.com. Sons of Freedom is a prequel to a story that is in the pipeline, ready to hit either later this year, or the beginning of next. The story is a vast piece expertly crafted by Arlin Fehr, called Sons of the Empire, (there will be more on that when the story is released). Arlin created the Shan'Lo aliens which are featured in Sons of Freedom, and we talked extensively before I began Sons of Freedom on what the Shan'Lo homeworld should look like. The Shan'Lo culture and technology are creations of Arlin as well, and nearly all of the characters in the story, with the exceptions of the Durinian Emperor, Princess Irine (created by Norman Shurtliff), Vatheel and Vykan were characters created by Arlin for his Sons of the Empire story. I hope you enjoy Sons of Freedom, it is a fantastic story of adventure and intrigue, and a taste of things yet to come.
Concerning the Absolution story arc, which is also available to read, I came up with the story with some assistance from Norman Shurtliff, including a major change to an important scene in the story. Originally I was going to have Ravania kill a character in a very brutal and unnecessary way, but Norman helped me realize that Ravania is the hero, she can have a dark side to her, but she needs to be the hero, and she needs to be good. Therefore the character who was going to die, ends up with a different fate... kind of a disturbing fate really. See if you can pick it out. Norman is a good friend, who is helping me a great deal with Genesis Project. He's contributing great art to the coming re-release of After the End, Comes the Beginning and Heirs of Ashes. He's very creative and is the sole creator of the Dragon Chaser character who plays a rather pivotal role in the Absolution story line.

This is how it breaks down. There is a new short story, called Sons of Freedom, and the old short stories, The Least of These and Absolution have been recompiled, no longer in parts they are now one piece. The short stories are now downloadable PDF files. They are free and allowed to be stored on your personal home computer. Next week Shadow of the Slayekk will be featured, and I hope people enjoy reading these stories as much as I enjoy writing them. Also, remember, Genesis Project: Prelude to Destiny: Volume I: The Wages of Sin is available to be bought, just go to Trafford.com and search the name.

Okay, here's the update, I've been working my butt off, but I've got some great short stories done, and the first one will go up on September 1, with the second the following week, and the third the week after that. We'll see how things go from there. Go check out the new After the End, Comes the Beginning and Heirs of Ashes covers, and also see he cover pages of the first two short stories, Sons of Freedom and Shadow of the Slayekk.
